# Intent AI Ops

> Intent AI Ops is an open-source CLI for managing one or many hosts with natural-language instructions, reviewed command plans, explicit approval, and system OpenSSH.

Intent AI Ops supports administration workflows across Linux, FreeBSD, macOS, Windows, and Kubernetes. It runs Codex locally, does not require a separate OpenAI API key, and does not install a separate AI agent on each managed host. Sensitive credentials are encrypted locally and redacted before any context is sent to AI.

## Key facts

- Interface: interactive Node.js CLI.
- AI integration: the locally installed and authenticated Codex CLI.
- Connections: the system `ssh` and `scp` binaries; not a JavaScript SSH implementation.
- Execution: complete plans are shown before conservative approval prompts.
- Security: SSH credentials, vault data, tokens, sudo passwords, and generated application credentials are not sent to AI.
- History: per-host task plans, results, retries, and saved revert plans are retained without secret credentials.
- Multi-host work: one natural-language task can run as separate, parallel, auditable tasks on selected hosts.
- Kubernetes: choose **Add Kubernetes cluster**, then paste hidden kubeconfig YAML or provide its local path. After the direct API test and encrypted save, use **Browse Kubernetes clusters** to activate the Stage 2 gateway; SSH and per-node plugins are not required.
